TW: sexual abuse

In this episode we talk about Dobson being mentioned in the Epstein files, the function of forgiveness in abusive systems, how to approach conservative parents and reflecting on a year under the current administration and how it’s impacted out nervous systems.

It’s been a wild week as more Epstein files were released, including a text message exchange between Epstein and an underage girl wherein he recommended an article by James Dobson. We talk a bit about what this means, as well as how forgiveness is used to enable abusers.

We also discuss approaches to engaging with parents who continue to defend the current president and the republican party, as we see ever-clearer how horrific he is - from posting racist memes, to funding secret police to terrorize communities of color, and the continual increasing evidence of his sexual abuse.

Krispin shares about feeling stuck in a freeze nervous system state, as we reflect on the different ways we’ve responded to the stress of this presidency and the horrors we’re continuing to witness.
